Who We Are

Here you will find many details about the troop and how it operates. Whether you are a prospective Scout or parent or an existing member of the troop, this is an ideal place for you to be.

A common question parents and Scouts have but are afraid to ask is “Why does Scouting exist?” It’s a big question! The Purpose of Scouting will shed some light on what, and why, we do what we do.

Where We Meet

Grace Episcopal Church
555 E. Mountain View Ave.
Glendora, CA 91741

We meet from 7:15-8:45pm on Tuesday nights September through July (no meetings in August).

Monthly Outings

Each month Troop 486 makes plans for at least one outing and one day hike. Outings are typically scheduled for leaving on Friday evening and returning on Sunday afternoon. Outings are usually backpacking or camping (drive-in) adventures that involve a wide range of activities such as rock-climbing and rappelling, bouldering, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. Day hikes are taken in the local mountains and are typically scheduled for leaving on Saturday morning and returning Saturday afternoon.

Summer Camp

Troop 486 attends a week-long summer camp each year.

High Adventure

In addition to the adventures each month, Troop 486 plans a High Adventure trip every year during summer. This High Adventure trip includes river rafting, mountain biking, hiking, rappelling and canyoneering in some of the most amazing locations.
